Latest Updates from Our Project:

Dawn of Madness is Live, and Some New Scenarios!
over 6 years ago – Wed, Nov 20, 2019 at 01:41:11 AM

Hey friends! Long time no talk!

I wanted to send a few things your way today. First, during the reprint we mentioned that we would send a few stretch goals to you whether you backed the reprint or not, and today I wanted to send you the first of those. (You may have gotten these already through Facebook or some other avenue, but just in case you hadn't I wanted to make sure you got them.) The Profundum PDF contains two new scenarios (an easier intro scenario that takes place before Chapter 1, and a new scenario that takes place after the True Ending Another Dawn scenario in Uncounted Horrors), a rules clarification for Chapter 4, and several new easier variants for the game! In addition, we have a slightly updated version of the rulebook that I wanted to send you. There really isn't much changed apart from some proofreading and minor clarifications (apart from the change to Chapter 4 also present in the Profundum PDF, and a new easier variant for Chapter 1 - also in the Profundum PDF), but I wanted to send it your way anyways.

Here they are:

Updated Rulebook

Updated English Rulebook

One other thing about this updated rulebook: on the reprint campaign several backers asked if they could get a printed version of this updated rulebook, even with just the few changes. We're looking into a PoD solution for this, so if you're interested in that I'll let you know once I've received the sample back to see what it looks like.

Dawn of Madness

The next thing I am extremely excited about is that, after so long of talking about it,  Dawn of Madness is officially live on Kickstarter! And not only is it live, but it is currently at almost $500,000 only a few hours after launching! I know a bunch of you are over there already (and thank you for joining us once again!), but for those who hadn't heard and are interested, you can find the campaign right here. (And for those who aren't interested, this the end of the DM-specific stuff in this update, so you can stop reading now. =)

Wondering what's in the campaign so far? Here's a look:

The Core Experience Contents
The Otherworld Experience Contents

And last of all, we have an awesome 24-hour Early Bird reward: The Watchers!

The Watchers Early Bird Reward

We don't have an early bird pledge level this time, either, guys, so even if you pledge $1 now and upgrade in the PM later, you'll still be eligible to get the Watchers.

Well, that's just about all I wanted to mention in this update. I hope you all are doing very well! Have a great week, and we'll talk with you again later!

Dawn of Madness Info and a Cool Crossover!
almost 7 years ago – Wed, Jun 26, 2019 at 02:25:40 AM

Hey, guys! Long time no talk! I hope you all have been doing well, and enjoying your copies of Deep Madness!

We've been showing off some Dawn of Madness stuff through other channels, but I realized we hadn't told you much. I apologize for that, but I'm here today to rectify it. Be prepared for a MEGA UPDATE!

Dawn of Madness Fridays

First of all, in case you hadn't been on Facebook recently, we have been doing Dawn of Madness Fridays! Every week we're posting a new mini or info about the game. If you haven't seen them, you can check those out at https://www.facebook.com/deepmadnessgame/! (Also, if you're on Facebook and haven't already, be sure to join the Deep Madness Facebook group for painting inspiration, gameplay tips, DoM news, and some awesome people at https://www.facebook.com/groups/DeepMadnessFans/!)

Just in case you don't have Facebook (we've also been posting stuff on Instagram: https://www.instagram.com/diemensiongames/), though, here's some of what we've been showing off:

First of all, we've had Abominations!

So that's a bit of what we've been doing on DoM Fridays. But what about the actual game details?

The Deets

Dawn of Madness is a 1-4 player story-driven cooperative game that, if we do it right, will be a true horror experience unlike any board game before it. It is set in the Deep Madness universe, but it is completely its own game. Each game is a chapter of a variable-length campaign, with each decision you make - and even what order those decisions are made in - impacting everything for the rest of the campaign. Every miniature in DoM is unique. There are no duplicates. Furthermore, each one has a purpose and a story all its own.

Throughout the chapters you will explore the world of one of the wanderers, collecting memories, coda cards, and story points while trying to fight off and evade the Abominations, aberrations, malformations and distortions out to cleave you into pieces. Then, at the end of the campaign, the story points collected throughout the chapters will be examined, and the wanderer - and that wanderer's ending - with the highest number of story points will determine the final boss that all of the wanderers will face. It is only through this climactic final battle that you can hope to survive and, maybe, to escape the nightmare world that you find yourself in.

Dawn of Madness is going to launch in August/September of this year. So keep an eye out!

The Preview KS Page is Up!

So, I realize that previous description was woefully lacking. But that's okay! Why, you ask? Because the preview KS page for DoM is officially up! This is a very rough page, and it will have a lot more (and different) content by the time we officially launch. But if you want to take a look at it, you can find it at http://bit.ly/DoMPreview! (And be sure to click the "Notify me on launch" button!)

The BGG Page is Up!

The Board Game Geek page for Dawn is also live! You can find it at https://boardgamegeek.com/boardgame/282527/dawn-madness! (And most of the pictures that we've been posting in our Dawn of Madness Fridays on Facebook and Instagram are on there as well!)

A Huge Crossover with Eternal Adversary is Live!

Today we are also very pleased to announce that we have just launched a major crossover with our friends at Petersen Games for their game Eternal Adversary! For the next week they will be revealing a new figure from Dawn of Madness every day that will also be available and playable in the Eternal Adversary faction Dawn of Chaos! Here's a sample of what they (and we) have been up to:

Because all of our DoM miniatures are unique, this will be the only way to get multiple copies of these miniatures. (Apart from buying multiple copies of DoM.)

Speaking of multiple, Eternal Adversary is a team game for 2-5 players that takes place across multiple colliding universes, bringing the dark legions of Chaos against the few remaining humans who represent Order. It features a ton of awesome monsters and asymmetric gameplay that was co-designed by Ben Donges and one of the fathers of modern gaming, Sandy Petersen. (He of Call of Cthulhu and Cthulhu Wars fame.) They're great folks (I've backed a number of their Kickstarter games myself, so I'm definitely a fanboy) and this looks like a great game. Check it out at https://www.kickstarter.com/projects/petersengames/eternal-adversary/description, and check back on their campaign every day this coming week to see a new miniature from Dawn of Madness!

Check out Eternal Adversary on Kickstarter today!

Well that's it for this update, friends! We'll be back with more details about Dawn of Madness in the future, as well as the PDFs and such that was unlocked for you guys during the reprint campaign! Talk to you again soon!

A Couple Cool Projects to Check Out
about 7 years ago – Wed, Jan 23, 2019 at 11:49:59 PM

Hi everyone! Long time no chat! I hope you all have been enjoying Deep Madness. I don't have any specifically DM news for you today, but I did want to direct your attention to a couple of DM promos that just launched recently.

Dark Rituals: Malleus Maleficarum

First of all, our little friend Hysteria is showing up in a new project that's making waves on Kickstarter called Dark Rituals: Malleus Maleficarum! Here's a couple pictures of the new sculpt they did of Hysteria for this game:

Hysteria in Medieval Times

Hysteria will be a stretch goal coming up for Dark Rituals, so everyone who backs the core game will get it once it's unlocked. It'll come  with:

  • 1 Miniature featuring Dark Gate Games' reimagining of Hysteria.
  • 1 Creature ID Card with its stats and powers.
  • 1 Witchcraft Card to summon it to the game.

In Dark Rituals, 1-4 Heroes battle the Witch Master in this miniatures-based board game set in a magic-infused Middle Ages realm. It's an asymmetric “One vs Many” game for 2 to 5 players, complete with a solo mode. A small band of Heroes defends villagers from a coven of Witches. One  player, the Witch Master, controls the Legion of Darkness. With two players,  the second player plays the Heroes in a strictly competitive game and up to  three more players may join in, each taking a Hero to help battle the Witch Master. A solo mode is also available, where the Witch Master battles  game-controlled Heroes.

The Game Setup

They've unlocked 25+ stretch goals already,  and are in the process of creating full printed versions of the game in German, French, and Spanish. It looks like an awesome game, and they have some very cool minis.  (Not the least of which is our own little Hysteria, all grown up!)

Check out Dark  Rituals: Malleus Maleficarum!

The Dice Tower

We also have a  promo search card that's coming out over at The Dice Tower in their promo pack C. There's no art for it yet because, well, we don't have art for it yet. But we should by the end of this week. It's $50 to get the promo pack, which honestly is hardly worth it if you're just diving in for the one promo card. But, as Tom Vasel has said, don't think of it as pledging for the rewards, but donating to The Dice Tower for more great gaming videos and then receiving a cool "thank you" gift from them. At this point I can't say one way or another if the promo will be available outside of this Kickstarter, which I know some people have wondered about. Having said that, if you enjoy The Dice Tower (I know I do), then go check out their Kickstarter and consider backing at Dice Tower - 2019

Well that's it for this update, guys. I hope you all are doing well, and that you've been able to get past the first scenario! ;D Talk to you all later!

Shipping Completed
over 7 years ago – Wed, Dec 05, 2018 at 11:34:12 PM

Hey Deep Madness friends! This is just a quick note to announce that we have learned all pledges for Deep Madness have officially shipped. I know some of you (specifically a few backers in Canada) still have not received your pledge, but we've been told that you should receive them shortly if you haven't yet.

It's been a long, long road, but it looks like this is officially the end of it! Thanks for sticking with us all this way, and many, many thanks to our extremely patient Canadian backers who've put up with all of these continuous and incredibly frustrating delays.

If you haven't heard anything about your pledge and have not received it, then something has gone wrong. If you have any problems with your pledge or need replacements, then send us an email at [email protected] and we'll do what we can to get you taken care of. Please note that we are starting to run low on some of our replacement part components, so the sooner you do this the better for you. If we run out of something that you need, then we may end up needing to fulfill it for you during the reprint campaign next August.

Well, once again, thank you so much for joining us on this crazy Deep Madness ride. We've said it many times before, but we really are so grateful you've been with us for this campaign. We may post the occasional update on new projects in the future, but for now this campaign will probably go pretty quiet. (Though I will still drop into the comments every once in a while to make sure you all are taken care of.) If you joined us for the reprint then we will see you over there for more DM fun, but if not (actually, even if you are) then, once more, thank you so much for believing in Deep Madness and helping us bring this game to life. You all really have been the best backers in the world, and we feel so fortunate that you took a chance on an unknown and unproven little game development company to make DM as successful as it has been.

So, one last time, from Roger, Yichuan, Cherry, myself (Byron), and the rest of the Diemension Games team, thank you. Thank you for making this possible. Thank you for making Deep Madness a success. We hope you're enjoying playing the game as much as we enjoyed making it.

Until next time, my friend.

Reprint Ends in 12 Hours!
over 7 years ago – Tue, Nov 20, 2018 at 11:47:50 PM

Hey, everyone! This is just a quick update to let you know that the reprint campaign will be ending in 12 hours! If you haven't jumped in on it yet, then this is your last chance!

If you're not sure what you'd like to add to your pledge (or would just like to be kept up to date on what's going on with Deep Madness), then take the Waves of Madness level for $1. (You can also add just a few things if you missed one or two items, or want one of the new items like the Drifter King or the original art monster cards. Also, just a reminder that many of the items - including many of the new items - are discounted for returning backers.)

The other option is the Deeper Terrors returning backer level at $50. This includes The Faces of the Sphere expansion, the novel Deep Madness: Shattered Seas, and all of the stretch goals from the current campaign - including the Profundum storage box, monster cards for The Weird Statue and Evil Jon, the new Lucas Kane investigator, new dice, the three new Visages (on top of the six other new Visages in The Faces of the Sphere,) and (shortly, once the goal unlocks) new printed scenarios.

We'd love to have you in the new campaign, even if it's only for $1 at the Waves of Madness level. If you'd like to jump back in to Deep Madness, then go to http://bit.ly/DeepMadness before it's too late!

Thanks again for being a part of Deep Madness! We appreciate you!
