Shipping Update
– Sat, Jul 21, 2018 at 12:18:15 AM
Hey guys! We have a couple of little updates about shipping for you. Here we go:
North America
All products bound for the North American should leave port by the 24th. The North American orders will still be on the boat MOL CONTRIBUTION, which is expected to arrive in the US by 31th August. In fact, the factory is loading the containers right now. Here are some photos from the factory:
Loading the containers.
Europe and South America
We’ve got good news and bad news here. The good news is that the problems with the EU import paperwork have been sorted out! Unfortunately, however, the bad news is that we weren’t fast enough to get on the Evergreen Line - CMA CGM CORTE REAL 0FM0ZW1MA. As we mentioned previously, this seems to be a pretty crazy season in the shipping industry, and it’s taken almost two weeks to get a boat. We are now working on getting our freighter CMA CGM NEVADA / 0FM15W1MA by the 31th (And it is expected to arrive in France by 25th August). Everything to the EU will be on the same boat (just like everything heading to the US.) We’re still waiting for the final confirmation on this, but in the worst-case scenario we will ship by the 7th August (expected to arrive in France by the 1st September). The good news is that France is closer than many other ports (including the US), so EU-bound shipments will spend less time on the ocean.
We’ve had to make a small adjustment for our South American friends. Basically, it now looks like your orders will be shipping to France first (on the same boat as the Europe orders), and then will depart from there to your home continent.
The factory will start to load the containers heading to France by the 27th.
Oceania and Asia
The factory will ship the orders for Oceania and Asia to Xiamen by the 27th. Then we'll start the assembling process there. We’ll keep you updated as we hear more.
Everyone
Since we’ve had more time spent on the import paperwork and getting ships than we were initially anticipating, all of the products that were previously shipping in waves are now going to be shipping in a single fell swoop. All of the products are now being stored in the factory, waiting much more patiently than we are for their ship to come in. We will ask the factory to send more photos of the finalized art books and translation packs, though everyone is super busy now so we might have to wait a little bit longer.
Well that’s it for the shipping updates for today. Have a nice week!
Maneuvering Boats
– Fri, Jul 13, 2018 at 01:37:35 AM
Well, shoot, guys. I had another update all written up and ready to go for you, but then circumstances got in the way. We’ve received word that, due to overcrowded waters, the boats are currently running about two weeks behind schedule. We unfortunately don’t have much more information currently than that, but we will keep you updated as we learn more. All we can say is that we’re really sorry for this additional delay.
The art books and translation packs have also taken longer to finish than expected due to exceptionally rainy, wet weather. They should all be done by July 15th, however, which I suppose makes this a moot point with the boat delay. Everything else is done and ready for the boats.
Regarding those boats, though, we do have some more information. Here’s what we know:
The boat heading to the US and Canada will be MOL CONTRIBUTION. You should be able to track it with more detailed information that we'll provide shortly. All the products will be loaded on this boat. And it's supposed to arrived in the US on 31th August.
Our shipping partner had planned to book the boat Evergreen Line - CMA CGM CORTE REAL 0FM0ZW1MA for Europe, but a problem has arisen with the import paperwork in the EU. We’re scrambling with our partner to fix the problem, and hopefully we’ll have it squared away and the EU products on that boat shortly.
It ends up the Australian packages will all be assembled in Xiamen, China, before they are loaded on a boat and shipped. Because of this, we don’t have boat information to share for our Australian backers yet, but we will as soon as we have it. Having said that, this shouldn’t mean that our Australian friends get their pledges later than everyone else, as all of the other pledges will need to be assembled (i.e., packaging the core box, Uncounted Horrors, Endless Nightmares, add-ons, etc. together to ship to you) once they reach their destination shipping hubs.
Asian pledges will not be getting on a boat, so there won’t be a boat number for you. Your pledges will be mailed directly to you. ;)
Once again, we’re sorry we don’t have better news. We’re as disappointed as you that things aren’t on the water yet. But hopefully this should all be resolved very shortly and everything will be on its way. I’m hoping you’ll get the update I already wrote very soon for two reasons: first of all, because it had some fun and informative stuff in it, and second of all because, when you do, it should mean that everything’s moving forward and on its way.
Assembling Games and Shipping Timelines
– Thu, Jun 28, 2018 at 12:20:38 AM
Hi everyone! We recently spent three days in the factories with our shipping partners, and we have a little more clarity on how everything is going to work now. Ready? Here we go.
Assembling Games
As mentioned previously, everything has been produced, and is now entering final assembly. (In other words, they’re packing all the minis and cardboard and rulebooks into the finished boxes.) The core game is currently being assembled, with Uncounted Horrors, Endless Nightmares, Rise of Dagon and The Oracle's Betrayal still waiting for their turns. The add-ons and accessories have been fully completed and assembled, with the exception of those pesky art books and translation packs.
Now, I'm sure some of you are wondering why everything hasn't been fully assembled yet. The reason is that Deep Madness is such a big project that it would overflow the factory's storehouse if it was all assembled at once. So, the plan is that the factory will assemble a chunk of the boxes, load them into a container, send that container to the terminal, and then assemble another chunk of boxes. How will this affect the timeline? Apparently very little, if at all. As an example, we have been told it will only take two days for the factory to completely finalize the assembly process for the core games. (Needless to say, we saw pile upon pile of minis in plastic blisters awaiting their final cozy cardboard homes.)

Expansion rulebooks
Special investigators. All finished.
Other add-ons have been fully packed.

Shipping Timelines
Probably the main purpose of our trip, though, was to coordinate with our shipping partners and work through the timeline and potential problems of the upcoming sea voyage. And coordinate we did. So, without further ado, here is the plan.
All products will be shipped from China before July 10th.
The games will be on the water in their respective boats for roughly 6 weeks, and will arrive at their destination warehouses by the end of August.
Most backers can then expect to receive Deep Madness in the early part of September.
Almost everything.
Core game unboxing.
Uncounted Horrors unboxing.
Endless Nightmares unboxing.
Rise of Dagon unboxing.
The Oracle's Betrayal unboxing.
Other add-ons.
So there you have it. Within the next two weeks the final leg of this journey will begin. The waiting is coming to an end, guys and gals. It's been a long time coming, but your patience is going to be rewarded very, very soon. Thanks again for sticking with us, and for being a part of this. We'll let you know more as we learn it, but until then have a great week. =)
Final Shipping Lockdown 6/15! And other stuff
almost 8 years ago
– Thu, Jun 14, 2018 at 01:14:13 AM
Hi everyone! We have a brief update for you today.
First of all, YOU ONLY HAVE UNTIL JUNE 15th TO UPDATE YOUR ADDRESS! After that time, we can make no guarantee that address changes will be possible! So, if you need to do it, NOW is your last chance! Don’t know how to update your address? Then check out our last update here (https://www.kickstarter.com/projects/diemensiongames/deep-madness/posts/2193565) to see the step-by-step process.
Next of all, the manufacturer has set the final deadline for finishing production at the end of June. So, not quite as soon as we all would like, but still inside the window we mentioned in our last update. The last two products to complete are the translation packs and the art book. We should have final production samples of those items shortly. Everything else is done. (You heard that right. Done!)
We will be back at the factories in China with our shipping partners next week to decide on the final packaging solutions for the project. This is (obviously) a pretty massive and involved undertaking with lots of little variables, but it should all be worked out after next week.
So, that’s it for today, everyone. A tiny but mighty little update. We will be back with more DM goodness very, very shortly. In the meantime, remember, THIS IS YOUR LAST CHANCE TO UPDATE YOUR ADDRESS! So, please, if you need to do it, do it NOW! =)
[IMPORTANT!!!] The Lockdown Date & Some Rulebooks
almost 8 years ago
– Tue, May 22, 2018 at 02:03:48 AM
Hey again everyone! We’ve got some very important news for your today. We will be locking down shipping addresses on June 15th. That means you have just under a month to change your address before it is too late!
Wondering how to change your address? First of all, you will need to log into the BackerKit pledge manager. If you don’t still have your login info for or an email from BackerKit, then you can go to https://www.backerkit.com/are_you_a_backer and search for Deep Madness to find it.
Once you’re into BackerKit, you’ll either be directed to the Order Confirmation page or the Thank the Creator page. If you’re taken to the latter, click the View Confirmation button in the upper-right-hand corner to get to the former.
Thank the Creator page.
Then, once on the Order Confirmation page, click Edit Shipping Info under your address.
Order Confirmation page.
On the next screen, fill in your new address and click Next.
Edit Shipping Info page.
Last of all, click Place My Order.
Done.
That’s it! Your new address will now be recorded and confirmed in BackerKit.
As we mentioned in the last update, currently we are planning to ship before the end of June. We’ll keep you updated once more detailed time estimates are available.
As far as production progress, the art book and a couple of the translation packs are still in the finalizing stage, but all other products are in final production. (Luckily the printed materials are the quickest to produce, so those few items left shouldn’t hold anything up any further.) Soon we’ll have the actual final product, the exact one that you will be receiving, to show you! Stay tuned!
Last of all, we wanted to share the rulebooks for all of the expansions with you today. These are only the English versions (apologies to our backers of other languages), but we wanted to give you a peek at these as well. We have Uncounted Horrors, Endless Nightmares, Rise of Dagon, and The Oracle’s Betrayal below. Every backer will receive the Uncounted Horrors and Endless Nightmares expansions, while Rise of Dagon and The Oracle’s Betrayal were optional buys. Enjoy! (And once again, SPOILER ALERT! These rulebooks – especially Rise of Dagon and The Oracle’s Betrayal - contain the story for each expansion! Don’t read the back half of the books if you don’t want to ruin the surprises!)
A bit of nerd timeline trivia, for anyone who’s interested: Rise of Dagon takes place before the core game of Deep Madness, and Oracle’s Betrayal takes place after Chapter Four of the core game – right before the investigators face Madness Within.
