Hi, Investigators!

In our previous update, you already saw those components related to investigators. In this update, we would like to show you the monster part!

On the Monster Card, we will find the monster's Madness Level (top left corner), Damage and Range (left), Health and Resistance (right), Trap (bottom left corner), Action Pool, and special abilities.

An investigator may be forced to resolve Madness Cards due to various effects in the game. Usually this comes as the result of accumulating too many Madness Tokens. Each Madness Card has a nasty negative effect as well a flavor text about a horrific scene or encounter.

When an investigator kills a monster while he/she is sane enough, he/she resolves Consciousness Cards as rewards. Consciousness Cards have beneficial effects and secret information about Kadath.

Hi, Investigators! It has been a while since our last update, but during that time we’ve been making great progress toward getting Deep Madness delivered to you! Our miniatures are in production now! We will give a detailed update on it immediately after we receive any news. Trust me, it won’t take too long. We will bring them to Gen Con 50 this year. Don’t miss out on it if you will come to Indianapolis this August.  

In fact, we do have a very important news here. You must know that we have been upgrading the graphic designs for Deep Madness. Now we have finished them. We can’t wait to share all the components with you guys. However, since it is quite extensive, we would like to divide it into several parts. Today, let’s have a look at the Investigator's part.

On Investigator Card, we will find the investigator's Health, Sanity, Resistance, Escape, starting item, and special abilities. The Activation Cards will form the initiative track, which determines the investigators' turn order during the Activation Phase.

The Results are In!

Hi, investigators! The results of our translation polls are in, and now we wanted to share what the final decision was. Here’s how you all voted:  

 

But wait, there’s more! We also received several new German and Italian translations from freelancers. Because of that, we’ve made a new survey for those two languages. So, if either of those are your language of choice, then vote for the best! But you’ll want to hurry, because the due date for this survey is June 12th, 2017! Spread the word among your German and Italian-speaking friends, so that we can get you the best translation of each language that we possibly can.

Our plan now is to send the final version of the rulebook to each selected translator. And once that’s done we will show you all the translated rulebook as well, just to make sure everything is good with each version of it. We’ll keep you updated as we move forward! Hey everybody! How're you all doing?                 

So it's been a little while since our last update, but during that time we’ve been making great progress toward getting Deep Madness delivered to your door! In fact, we're getting close to finishing all of the text for the core game, and are now moving into localizing the content. As we start that process, though, we'd like to show you some of our consciousness cards and get your opinions.    

We've been approached by several translation agencies. We sent some of our text to them to get samples, and those samples have officially arrived. Now we'd like to show you several of the translations we received for each language. Since many backers have expressed concern about the quality of the translations, we decided we'd let you all choose which one was best. We've created surveys for each language, so click on your language of choice and vote for your favorite one!

This survey will be closed by the end of this month. Please do finish it as soon as possible. In addition, it would be much appreciated if you could share this news with others.

“We began construction today for the new facility.  This is going to push us all to the limits, let me tell you, but it’s going to be absolutely incredible when it’s finished.  Even now I can see it, rising like a metropolis out of the deep that only the privileged few will ever see.  The plans for this thing are just unreal.  They’re calling it a ‘mining facility.’ A mining facility!  That’s like calling Jesus a country bumpkin who makes furniture!” – Edgar Kayce, Lead Engineer: Kadath Facility

“We completed work on the facility’s first dome today.  It was marvelous to see the water pumped away as the scrubbers churned out real, breathable atmosphere.  We are officially spending our first night in the facility.  We don’t exactly have the poshest accommodations, but our excitement more than makes up for it.  (Truth be told, we’re a little nervous about a breach as well.)  All that said, I couldn’t be prouder of my team.  This place we’re building will change the world.” – Edgar Kayce, Lead Engineer: Kadath Facility  

“I’ve noticed some strange behavior among some of my people.  Many of them seem to be on a razor’s edge recently.  A couple of them have even reported seeing things: strange, otherworldly creatures that simply couldn’t exist.  The church told me of the power that was down here.  Perhaps my crew is tuning into that.  It might be they’re sensing the energy that we will use to change the world.  Who knows: maybe it’s imbuing them with its own essence! What a riveting thought!” – Edgar Kayce, Lead Engineer: Kadath Facility  

“We finished the main mining pod today, which should be cause for celebration.  But we also had our first casualty.  We all knew working this far down was risky, but the way it happened is what gets me.  Apparently one of the experimental deep sea workers had been a veteran before being fused.  Suddenly he started screaming about a warzone, and sawed right through Warren.  There were bursts of blood and bubbles, and then I saw two Warrens floating away.  I can’t… unsee it…” – Edgar Kayce, Lead Engineer: Kadath Facility  

“The facility is officially open and more crews are arriving every day.  There’s a buzz hanging in the air like electricity.  Machinery is roaring to life, tools are being assembled, labs are filling up with equipment.  All in all, Kadath’s occupants are bursting with excitement.  Everyone, at least, but my people.  We’ve had nine more mental breakdowns.  Some scream at invisible monsters.  Others keep reliving their most traumatic experiences.  We’ve also had three more deaths.  Something’s not right, and only we see it.” – Edgar Kayce, Lead Engineer: Kadath Facility  

“She came to me last night.  She… She said she was my mother.  There were tentacles erupting from her mouth.  She was nursing a baby who she said was my brother.  Then her breast… absorbed him, and her stomach split open into an enormous second mouth.  My mother died in childbirth twenty years ago.  I have to get out of here.  I must tell them to close Kadath down.  This place is evil, and it’s destroying people’s minds.  …Will I kill someone, too?” – Edgar Kayce, Lead Engineer: Kadath Facility
